The silence on the left regarding the money that the liberals in Washington are using to assure their position of power is deafining.

Millions upon millions of dollars spent for every man woman and child in this nation, with not much to show for it, except a fog of secrecy to obstruct any one who might want to find out how the money is being used.

Details thin on stimulus contracts

WASHINGTON — Although President Obama has vowed that citizens will be able to track "every dime" of the $787 billion stimulus bill, a government website dedicated to the spending won't have details on contracts and grants until October and may not be complete until next spring — halfway through the program, administration officials said.

Recovery.gov now lists programs being funded by the stimulus money, but provides no details on who received the grants and contracts. Agencies won't report that data until Oct. 10, according to Earl Devaney, chairman of the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, which manages the website.

Devaney told a House subcommittee Tuesday that it will be a challenge to have the site ready to present spending data in five months. He said after the hearing that the board doesn't have enough data storage capacity, for example.

Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia, a Republican serving on the House Science and Technology subcommittee, criticized the administration's decision to require reporting of only the first two recipients of stimulus spending. Broun said that means if the money goes to a state and then a city, the identities of the city's contractors will be unavailable.

How can we have come so far? Martin Luther King Jr. said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

He has probably been the best known African American figure in our history. Today we have Barack Hussein Obama. Sadly these two men do not even compare, and that says much more about American society and its thinking than it does about the obama.

MLK was a radical and was instrumental in the stirring up of civil unrest in the effort to gain equal treatment for all Americans. Obama spent time in his youth trying to separate himself from what is essentially 'White America' as he out lines in his book "[u]Dreams of My Father" [/u]

Most would consider MLK selfless in his efforts to improve his country and improve the experience, opportunity, and ability to succeed for all Americans. Obama seems to have only worked to serve himself and his radical ideals. From ACORN to the his endorsement by the socialist 'New Party' even to the launch of his political career in American terrorist William Ayers in 1995. What does the obama have to point to that demonstrates that he has worked for anyone other than himself?

Today we are in the throws of an economic crisis brought on by liberal democrats, their policies, and Republican's failure to to reign them in. Guess who was highest recipient of donations from Fannie Mae? Liberal Chris Dodd. Guess who the second highest was... You guessed it, the obama. Who's interest was the obama serving when taking these donations? Was it the people he represented, meaning you and I? Of course not.

Tony Rezko the convicted felon is connected to the obama, having purchased land from Rezko. Rezko was not helping anyone but himself and the obama. The obama was helping who? His constituants?

The obama has worked directly and indirectly with William Ayers the unrepentant American Terrorist. Who did this serve? Americans, or the obama?

The obama slanders the military along with Dick Durbin, John Kerry, Harry Reid, and others saying that the military 'air raids villages and kills innocent civilians'.

The reason I started this out with a connection to MLK is because of the question of judgment. We should not judge the obama positively or negatively because he is African American. We should judge him on the content of his character.

The problem the obama has is that his character and his judgment are worth as much as these mortgages the government just had to bail out. In other words they are not worth anything.

How much do you have to know before you wouldn't vote for someone?

Over at The American Thinker, Rick Moran has posted a list of 14 of Joe Biden’s “misstatements” from last evening’s debate. Here’s the complete list:

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s health insurance coverage—they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska—she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation—he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES : Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won’t pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

Quite a list! That’s probably more whoppers than McDonalds served up during the same time frame.

Since I have a special interest in matters of economics, finance and tax policy, I’ll be looking into those items first. But I don’t see that any of the items on Moran’s list are even remotely questionable. All in all, its a pretty devastating indictment of Biden’s casual disregard for the truth, never mind the presumptuous arrogance in thinking he wouldn’t get caught.

The economic crisis has some characters that are connected to the Obama. The main stream media doesn't seem to care enough to bother providing this relevant information to the general public in the lead up to the election.

Franklin Raines, who made 90 million dollars, that is $90,000,000.00 while running Fannie Mae, has been connected to advising the man child obama.

This piece of work made all this money while in the years leading up to the crisis, 1998 to 2003. He was eventually forced out although he claimed he was taking an 'early retirement'.

Here is a terrific editorial from Investors Business Daily about some of the mess that guys like Raines have created.

Remember the early 2000s, when companies such as WorldCom, Enron, Tyco and Xerox suddenly and spectacularly were revealed to have been cooking their books?

Remember the glee expressed by Washington politicians, especially Democrats, as they watched CEOs and their underlings get perp-walked out of their buildings and into federal custody?

Enron became the poster child for corporate misdeeds. In the accounting crisis of 2002, CEO Ken Lay was one of the most loathed human beings on Earth. And no, that's not an exaggeration.

Here was California Attorney General William Lockyer, one of many Democrats on the national scene who gloated at the downfall of the Enron chief and others: "I would love to personally escort Lay to an 8-by-10 cell that he could share with a tattooed dude who says, 'Hi, my name is Spike, honey.'"

Lockyer wasn't the only one swept up in a spiteful prosecutorial frenzy. Sure, some of the prosecutions were deserved. But some were excessive, part of a corporate witch hunt.

As noted in a 2003 study by Kathleen Brickey, a Washington University law professor, the Justice Department brought 50 major fraud prosecutions from March 2002 to August 2003. An estimated 90 corporate officers were involved. That's a lot of prosecutions.

Basically, any major-company CEO whose stock price fell sharply could be sued or charged with a crime and sent to prison.

Democrats wasted no time calling this a "GOP" scandal, tarring any Republican official with charges of corruption for taking so much as a dollar from any of the companies. Never mind that Democrats were also prominent on the political gift lists.

Fanning the fire were news media highlighting Republican ties to scandal-plagued firms while all but ignoring Democrat links.

In the end, what emerged from this atmosphere of retribution and attack was Sarbanes-Oxley — the toxic corporate regulatory law that has arguably destroyed more wealth than anything WorldCom, Tyco or Enron ever did.

We mention all this because we now have an opportunity, thanks to the New York grand jury, to probe perhaps the greatest financial crime ever — one that dwarfs Enron in size and scope.

Yes, we're talking Fannie and Freddie.

Here's how James B. Lockhart III, head of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, described the two companies back in 2006, before the meltdown occurred:

"The result of (Fannie's and Freddie's) rapid growth unconstrained by market forces and a weak regulator was years of mismanagement, flagrant earnings manipulation, and systems-and-controls problems. Managements of both companies were forced out, earnings were misstated by an estimated $16 billion, fines exceeding one-half billion dollars were imposed, and remedial costs will exceed $2 billion."

Yet Congress did nothing. Fannie and Freddie continued to enjoy a virtual monopoly of the housing finance market, holding nearly half the nation's $12 trillion in mortgage assets in 2007.

And what happened to Fannie's and Freddie's top executives, almost all with deep ties to the Democratic Party? Did they get perp-walked to prison like WorldCom's Bernie Ebbers, Tyco's Dennis Koslowski, Adelphia's John Rigas, ImClone's Sam Waksal, or any of the others who did time for corporate misdeeds in the early 2000s?

No. Jim Johnson, former Walter Mondale aide, became head of Barack Obama's vice presidential search committee. Franklin Raines, who headed Fannie from 1998 to 2004, the years of its worst excesses, pocketed nearly $100 million in pay and bonuses from Fannie. He, too, became an adviser to Obama.

Other Fannie-Freddie alumni did equally well. Rep. Rahm Emanuel has been front and center in crafting a new rescue bill. Ex-Clinton Justice official Jamie Gorelick careens from career catastrophe to catastrophe, and still gets top jobs. It pays to have ties.

Meanwhile, as previously documented, Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd repeatedly thwarted reforms. Yet today they stand front-and-center as Democrats try to "fix" a problem they created.

As such, any investigation into Fannie and Freddie must include Congress, both current and past.

There's lots of evidence that the two mortgage giants had become little more than taxpayer-guaranteed front companies for Democrats, who used them to reward supporters with cheap loans and to provide jobs for out-of-work politicians.

So guys like Barney Frank, a democrat at the heart of this mess with Chris Dodd, worked against reforms by Clinton, and Bush, and have left us with this mess. Thanks you retards.

What is more we are supposed to trust the judgment of the obama when it comes to leading this nation. Yet he takes advice and council from guys like Raines and Johnson. What does that tell you? The obama doesn't want to affix blame in the matter just 'put the fire out'. Well how convenient! Do you think if this was a Republican caused mess he would not want to affix blame?

We deserve better than a 'community organizer' who is endorsed by terrorists and terror groups, who is friends and confidants with criminals and at heart is simply a socialist through and through.

Good News for service men everywhere! Bad news for the loser Murtha!

Marine Plans To File Slander Suit Against Murtha
WASHINGTON, PA (KDKA) ― A local Marine cleared in the deaths of civilians in Iraq says Congressman John Murtha made public comments that were unproven, untrue and unfair.

Now, Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt is planning to file suit in federal court against Murtha on Thursday morning.

The suit accuses the congressman of slander and violating the Marine's right to a fair trial and due process.

Sharratt was one of eight Marines charged after 24 Iraqi civilians were killed in Haditha. He was charged with three counts of unpremeditated murder.

It's alleged in the lawsuit that before the outcome of the case, Congressman Murtha made slanderous comments.

Three years after the deaths, seven of eight Marines have been cleared, including Sharratt. There's now a website, JustinSharratt.com, to let the world know that he has been cleared.

The eighth Marine is still waiting for his day in court.

KDKA contacted Murtha's office for comment on this suit but there's no word back from them yet.

After days of intense media coverage about Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s qualifications, more than 40 million Americans tuned in Wednesday to see for themselves what they thought of her.

The huge audience for Palin’s acceptance speech rivaled that for Obama’s address at the Democratic National Convention six days earlier, and set a tough standard for the top of her own ticket. John McCain was to accept the GOP presidential nomination on Thursday.

“More than 40 million Americans” does more than merely rival Obama’s numbers. Obama only got 38 million viewers for his speech, and his speech was covered on four more networks.

Proof again that when liberals try to tell you how 'excited' the nation is about the obama and his candidacy it is simply not true. The excitement is about Palin, and how McCain turned the race around in the last two months!

From 1999 to 2002, Barack Obama - currently the 2008 Democratic presidential nominee - joined Ayers in a paid nine member board Woods Fund of Chicago, an anti-poverty foundation. While running for the state Senate in Illinois in 1995, Ayers meet with Obama and would later introduce him at his house. In 2001, Ayers supported and contributed $200 to Obama's state Senate campaign[1]. Barack Obama was asked over the controversy in an April 2008 Presidential debate by moderator George Stephanopoulos.

In February of 2008, Obama Chief Strategist David Axelrod said,

"Bill Ayers lives in his neighborhood. Their kids attend the same school … They’re certainly friendly, they know each other, as anyone whose kids go to school together." He called Ayers current defense of his 1960s bombings "objectionable, and I think Barack would also say that was objectionable. I don't think he's ever had an in-depth discussion [with Ayers] about them."[2]

What was the $200 for? I would think that some one handing you a couple of Benjamin's would certainly constitute an endorsement of some kind. I guess Georgie Stephaflopylips didn't think so! My point for posting this particular article is to point out just what and who is a community organizer. Saul Alinsky, and William Ayers both hold themselves out as community organizers. However the soft friendly sound of 'community organizer' is not what they are selling, doing, or offering. Here is a terrific article detailing some of just what it is the obama tries to represent himself as...

Here we have Palin who gave a teriffic speech last night, and then today I find that the MSM is trying to paint her as some kind of antisemitic freak. Matthews: Is it true that she believes that God supports the war in Iraq? How does she know?

Maddow: Was she sitting in the pew in her church in Wasilla two weeks ago when a speaker said that the Israelis deserve terrorist attacks, because Jews are unbelievers in Christ?

Maddow: That was in the Politico today. Jews for Jesus founder speaking at her church while she was there two weeks ago making incredibly, incredibly out of line comments about Israel and Jewish people. These are tough questions she'll have to answer.

Matthews: Pro or con?

Maddow: Saying that's why Israel was subject to terrorist attacks. It was God's judgment for not believing in Christ.

Matthews: What's the source?

For a media that is scaring its audience about Palin's Christianity, it sure does understand the concept of an "eye for eye." The search for a right wing Jeremiah Wright is on. Maddow is referring to Ben Smith's Politico article.

According to the story, Palin’s pastor, Larry Kroon, introduced Jews for Jesus leader David Brickner on Aug. 17. While MSNBC's Maddow is quoting Brickner from the Politico, she fails to mention the article also says the following about Palin:

Palin was in church that day, Kroon said, though he cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her.

The article continues:

Republican Jewish Coalition e-mailed its members evidence of her support for Israel: a video in which a small Israeli flag can be seen poking out from behind a drape.

"I think it speaks volumes that she keeps an Israeli flag on the wall of her office," the group's executive director, Matt Brooks, told Politico in an e-mail. "It clearly shows what's in her heart.”

The article continues:

...Tuesday, both sides scrambled to play on the changed turf of the Jewish vote. Palin, shepherded by Lieberman, introduced herself to leaders of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC in St. Paul on Tuesday.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said.

Regardless of Palin's views on Israel, her Christian beliefs will count as a strike against her among media pundits. The long standing relationship between Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama should be looked at more carefully than a speaker who simply visited Palin's church recently.

Unlike Obama's relationship to Rev.Wright, Palin did not write a book based on the sermons of this individual who spoke at her church and her children were not baptized by him either.

Maddow may believe she is putting Brickner's words into Palin's mouth, but the comparison is flimsy and Palin's past relationship with Alaska's Jewish community has proven otherwise.

The funny thing is if you read the article by Ben Smith, it mostly makes hay of the fact that Sarah Palin attended some conference or meeting with Pat Buchanan. And we all know what an antisemitic type Buchanan is, so Palin must be too right? Note that Palin didn't attend a TWENTY YEAR meeting with Buchanan and then say she was unaware of Buchanan's positions, her father is not a socialist leader in a foreign nation, she did not start her career as a politician in the home of a admitted unrepentant American terrorist! You would think that lefty bloggers would at least address these issues about the obama, but I guess dishonest is as dishonest does.

Lefty Bloggers Go After Palin's Daughter

The lefty blogosphere hasn't stopped perpetuating the rumor Sarah Palin "faked" her last pregnancy and are now humiliating her daughter Bristol on the blatantly incorrect suspicion she is the real mother of baby Trig.

"Sarah Palin is NOT the Mother" is the title of this DailyKos blog that accuses Bristol, a completely fit looking adolescent teen, of having a "baby bump" in a photo they allege was taken March 9th of this year.

"Sarah, I'm calling you a liar" wrote blogger ArcXIX. "And not even a good one. Trig Paxson Van Palin is not your son. He is your grandson. The sooner you come forward with this revelation to the public, the better. "

Not only is the DailyKos disgustingly inspecting Bristol's midriff with all the fervor of LA paparrazzi examining J-Lo's or Jennifer Aniston's washboard stomachs for evidence of a "bump" DailyKos is is wrong on when the photo was taken. It was taken, and published, by the Anchorage Daily News in 2006. Baby Trig, a Down's Syndrome child, was born on April 18, 2008. That's a long time for a teen girl to be carrying a "bump" which looks nothing more than the curve of a tight sweater.

Shorly after Palin was announced McCain's VP, bloggers at the Kos started ginning up the rumor Palin faked her pregnancy, allegedly to cover for an illegitimate grandchiled[sic], because she looked so fit and trim in a photo taken a few months before giving birth.

This is only the latest in outrageoues attacks against Palin's mothering ability. Fox News anchor Alan Colmes, of Hannity & Colmes, titled a recent post on his blog "LiberalLand" "Did Palin Take Proper PreNatal Care" that wondered if she somehow was at fault for having a disabled child. Colmes took down the post after being attacked by the blog Wizbang and later reposted a screenshot of the blog to prove he "wasn't running away from what I posted."

Considering DailyKos is a sounding board for the leftist in this country, I would say it is fairly desperate of the left to attack Gov. Palin's daughter. Clearly we can see by this that Alan Colmes is a cretin, and of course will not be called on it by anyone outside of conservative bloggers. Can you imagine if Savage said this? Or Mark Levin? Or God forbid Rush? The leftists would wet their pants in anticipation of making someone apologize!

The obama candidacy is in trouble, with out question. They know they shot themselves in the foot choosing a terrorist befriending inexperienced liberal effete snob from Chicago. They made things worse when they tried to plug the gaping hole of the obama's lack of foreign policy experience with the oily one Biden. Now with the selection of Palin, they know women have a choice other than the obama, and last I checked, (Friday) the polls are reflecting that this is what is happening. But I am sure that socialist bloggers like the Northdecoder.com will have no trouble making excuses for all of this. I can't wait.

ABC Reporter Arrested in Denver Taking Pictures of Senators, Big Donors

Found this on ABC News' Web site.

DENVER -- Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.
Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.

A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producer's arm behind him to put on handcuffs.

A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.

Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station.

Video taken at the scene shows a man, wearing the uniform of a Boulder County sheriff, ordering Eslocker off the sidewalk in front of the hotel, to the side of the entrance.

The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later, he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street.

It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.

During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You're lucky I didn't knock the f..k out of you."

Eslocker was released late today after posting $500 bond.

Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson."

Nice huh?

Dems through the hotel clearly do not want any connection made between lobbyists and upper echelon libs would be my guess. I wonder how many far leftist websites will report on this, and if they do what excuses can we expect them to make for the treatment of the ABC guys?

Congress workes to hard to beat President Bush's low approval ratings...

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just nine percent (9%) of Likely Voters give Congress positive ratings, while 51% say it's doing a poor job.

Congressional ratings first hit nine percent (9%) back at the beginning of July, marking the lowest ratings recorded by Rasmussen Reports. Ratings hit the same low two weeks later. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of this year.

Indicative of the low opinion most voters have of Congress were the findings in another survey earlier this week of members of the leadership's own party. Just 37% of Democrats say they have a favorable opinion of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, while 51% have an unfavorable view of her. One-quarter (25%) of Democrats rate their view of the San Francisco Democrat as Very Favorable, but 14% see her in a Very Unfavorable light.

The news is even worse for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is viewed favorably by 22% of Democrats and unfavorably by 41%. Six percent (6%) of Democrats have a Very Favorable view of the Nevada senator, but 8% regard him Very Unfavorably.

DENVER - Activist groups say the converted warehouse poses a threat to civil liberties. The city maintains the facility is needed in case of mass arrests during the Democratic National Convention. The makeshift holding center, dubbed "Gitmo on the Platte" by activists, is located on city-owned property near Steele Street and 38th Avenue. Newly-installed security cameras guard the exterior, chain-link fences and barbed wire form cells inside
"The public was never going to view this place, it was just found out," Spagnuolo said. "They got caught with this place. They told our lawyers in negotiations that this place didn't even exist."

"This was never a secret site," said Undersheriff Bill Lovingier, the city's director of corrections.

Lovingier said the city had long planned to build a new holding facility for the DNC, which triples the processing speed of the city jail. Lovingier said the Steele Street warehouse will be able to process 60 arrestees an hour.

"This center is designed as an arrest processing site," Lovinger said. "There will be no housing or long-term detentions." (Right, it won't be a housing location because they will move them to permanent jails? No of course not they will simply let the offenders go, thus making yet another example of how liberals do not belive in the rule of law.)

I also heard on the radio that the mayor of Denver is either ordering the police to relax or stop enforcement of marijuana laws or considering making that order. I guess we are not a nation of laws and liberals are free to do as they please.

One man in Denver thinks marijuana laws are so ridiculous that he wants cops to stop enforcing them ... but only during the Democratic National Convention, which will soon be held there.

Why only then, you ask? It's not because Democrats are more likely to smoke reefer than Republicans (although that's arguably true).

It's becuase the member of the mayor's Marijuana Policy Review Panel, which makes recommendations regarding the drug to Denver's mayor, says resources would best be spent providing security for the convention and not enforcing marijuana laws.

He wants police to allow adults over 21 to possess up to an ounce of the drug during the DNC.

So it is a policy advisor to the mayor. Nice eh?

Talking about "The Obama Nation," Obama said author Jerome Corsi was just making "stuff up."

“But it gets a lot of play on Fox News,” he said to loud boos.

The news network has interviewed Corsi.

Obama said GOP attackers “will run negative ad after negative ad, attack after attack, with the goal of making you lose focus on the issues. … and focus on me and try to make me out to be a risky, scary guy.”

“Now I must say: I don’t find myself particularly scary or particularly risky," he said.

Thats funny, the obama doesn't talk about issues. The so-called Rev. Wright is an issue, as is the obama's connection to terrorist William Ayers, swindler Tony Rezko, and others, but he doesn't talk about them, does he? His questionable patriotism is an issue, but he doesn't speak about how this nation is a force for good, a light of democracy and hope, does he?

What the obama does do, is tell his dupes how Fox News is attacking him. Does the obama go on Fox News and set the record straight? No, he doesn't. He just makes non sequitur attacks, and the dupes love it.

Maybe you've noticed them in some of Sen. Barack Obama's recent television ads, the small print footnotes at the bottom of the screen as the narrator attacks Sen. John McCain.

They cite newspaper articles, editorials, think tank reports and congressional votes. The print is so small and flashes so quickly, you'd have to freeze the frame to really read them.....

In short, the citations themselves require scrutiny. And political operatives are betting voters won't give them any.

"If one voter out of 10,000 does that, I'd be surprised," said Allan J. Lichtman, professor of history at American University.

So how much stock should you place in the source citations? We took a look at several Obama TV ads and found that while some of the sources provided accurate documentation to back up the claims against McCain, others were far from airtight.

In a recent Obama TV ad called "Original," the announcer says of McCain: "He's for billions in new oil company giveaways while gas prices soar."

At the bottom, there's a footnoted source: "Center for American Progress Action Fund, 3/27/08."

This refers to a report that analyzed how McCain's proposal to cut the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent would reduce taxes for the top four oil companies by nearly $4-billion. PolitiFact looked at this claim when the ad ran, and concluded that it cherry-picked the facts to offer a misleading impression. All companies would get the tax cuts, so the claim wrongly implies that McCain is proposing a special tax cut for oil companies. He is not.

It's also important to note who is behind the report. The Center for American Progress Action Fund is a think tank headed by former Clinton chief of staff John D. Podesta.

"It's almost like citing yourself," said Stuart Rothenberg, editor and publisher of The Rothenberg Political Report, a nonpartisan political newsletter....

A grass root effort to support the interference of our military equipment returning home to Washington is going on tonight. These moonbats seem to believe they have the right to break the law, interfere and obstruct the military and their mission, and call themselves peace activists. What this seems to be is a dirty band of unemployed thugs who hate our nation as well as our military, and want to stop the rest of the world so they can dictate what goes on in this country. Last November they pulled this stunt in Olympia and many were arrested and carted off to the clink.

Tonight in Olympia they are having a 'solidarity' protest to empathize with the moonbats in Tacoma. Hopefully they will again be arrested when they break the law. I doubt the police will do anything which is a pretty sad state of affairs.

US monthly toll in Iraq at lowest since invasion

Eleven US soldiers were killed in Iraq in July, the lowest monthly toll since the 2003 invasion, according to Pentagon figures, highlighting what US commanders say is a marked drop in violence.

The number compares with the deadliest month of November 2004 when 137 American troops were slain, a toll by independent website icasualties.org showed. The previous low was in May this year when 19 soldiers were killed.

Since the US-led invasion of March 2003 that toppled now executed dictator Saddam Hussein, a total of 4,125 US troops have been killed in Iraq, according to icasualties.org.

The downward trend began in the middle of last year after a US troop "surge," although there were two spikes in bloodshed in March and April when fierce fighting erupted between Shiite militiamen and US-led forces.

Icasualties.org said the number of Iraqi civilian dead fell from 373 in June to 302 in July, the lowest since April 2005. The toll among Iraqi security forces rose in July to 91 from 77 the previous month.

But Iraq's health and defence ministries said on Thursday their figures showed militants and insurgents had killed 387 civilians, 45 police officers and 33 soldiers in July.

The commander of US forces in Iraq, General David Petraeus, said in an interview published two days ago that overall violence was falling to almost "normal" levels.

What is it about Mrs. Clinton that inspires this never-ending hatred and anger which is based on some sense of entitlement that you women must have? I was listening to the Mark Levin Show yesterday while running errands, and I enjoyed a segment about the obama. In it Levin discusses an editorial posted at Investors Business Daily. The op/ed column describes the obama's back ground, and his up bringing from childhood into his political activism, and his journey into politics.

The column is below with some emphasis added to denote some fairly important facts regarding the obama that he and his campain staff have failed to inform the general public about. I don't understand how they could have overlooked such vital information. Perhaps I should e-mail them and bring the oversight to their attention.

The column starts out...

During his NAACP speech earlier this month, Sen. Obama repeated the term at least four times. "I've been working my entire adult life to help build an America where economic justice is being served," he said at the group's 99th annual convention in Cincinnati.

And as president, "we'll ensure that economic justice is served," he asserted. "That's what this election is about." Obama never spelled out the meaning of the term, but he didn't have to. His audience knew what he meant, judging from its thumping approval.

It's the rest of the public that remains in the dark, which is why we're launching this special educational series.

"Economic justice" simply means punishing the successful and redistributing their wealth by government fiat. It's a euphemism for socialism.

In the past, such rhetoric was just that — rhetoric. But Obama's positioning himself with alarming stealth to put that rhetoric into action on a scale not seen since the birth of the welfare state.

Economic justice means taking money from you to give to your neighbor as the government sees fit. But hey, they are the government and they are here to help!

It's clear from a close reading of his two books that he's a firm believer in class envy. He assumes the economy is a fixed pie, whereby the successful only get rich at the expense of the poor.

Following this discredited Marxist model, he believes government must step in and redistribute pieces of the pie. That requires massive transfers of wealth through government taxing and spending, a return to the entitlement days of old.

Of course, Obama is too smart to try to smuggle such hoary collectivist garbage through the front door. He's disguising the wealth transfers as "investments" — "to make America more competitive," he says, or "that give us a fighting chance," whatever that means.

Among his proposed "investments":

• "Universal," "guaranteed" health care.

• "Free" college tuition.

• "Universal national service" (a la Havana).

• "Universal 401(k)s" (in which the government would match contributions made by "low- and moderate-income families").

• "Free" job training (even for criminals).

• "Wage insurance" (to supplement dislocated union workers' old income levels).

• "Free" child care and "universal" preschool.

• More subsidized public housing.

• A fatter earned income tax credit for "working poor."

• And even a Global Poverty Act that amounts to a Marshall Plan for the Third World, first and foremost Africa.

His new New Deal also guarantees a "living wage," with a $10 minimum wage indexed to inflation; and "fair trade" and "fair labor practices," with breaks for "patriot employers" who cow-tow to unions, and sticks for "nonpatriot" companies that don't.

That's just for starters — first-term stuff.

Good Grief, is this the change that our nation is looking for? I hardly think so. What this change means is a throw back to the LBJ and Carter administrations. Not particularly prosperous periods in our history, but hey, why not try those 'changes again?

A careful reading of Obama's first memoir, "Dreams From My Father," reveals that his childhood mentor up to age 18 — a man he cryptically refers to as "Frank" — was none other than the late communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and Congress opened investigations into his "subversive," "un-American activities."

As Obama was preparing to head off to college, he sat at Davis' feet in his Waikiki bungalow for nightly bull sessions. Davis plied his impressionable guest with liberal doses of whiskey and advice, including: Never trust the white establishment.

Frank the Communist was an influence on the obama, and now he wants to run the country? I wonder why this doesn't get the attention it deserves from the obama campaign, considering how "Frank" was an agent of change, as well as William Ayers.

With his African identity sewn up, Obama returned to Chicago and fell under the spell of an Afrocentric pastor. It was a natural attraction. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright preaches a Marxist version of Christianity called "black liberation theology" and has supported the communists in Cuba, Nicaragua and elsewhere.

Obama joined Wright's militant church, pledging allegiance to a system of "black values" that demonizes white "middle classness" and other mainstream pursuits.

(Obama in his first book, published in 1995, calls such values "sensible." There's no mention of them in his new book.)

Sensible? Really? Terrorist ties, in William Ayers, communist up bringing by his father and "Frank", and then followed by TWENTY YEARS with the so-called Reverend Jerimiah "God. Damn. America." Wright. Is your stomach upset now? It shoud be.

He's been traveling in an orbit of collectivism that runs from Nairobi to Honolulu, and on through Chicago to Washington.

Yet a recent AP poll found that only 6% of Americans would describe Obama as "liberal," let alone socialist.

Doesn't say much about people if they are not interested enough to know who they are being duped into voting for...

Vote for the obama and you can consider yourself...

Considering the Obama is running around pretending to be on a fact finding mission or something, ignoring the troops he opposes, I got to thinking about the war on terror in general. I went and looked at a table of the number of people killed by Islamic terrorists in the last two months.

It makes me sad for all those people and their friends and families who have been suffered so badly. The nominee of the Democratic party opposes the gas tax holiday. He says it won't make much of a difference. Here is what theobama actually said...

“We're arguing over a gimmick that would save you half a tank of gas over the course of the entire summer so that everyone in Washington can pat themselves on the back and say they did something,” said Obama."

However the people who are organizing the democratic convention must have missed that particular memo. If the savings is meager and meaningless, why then does the party apparatus choose to get their gas with out paying the associated taxes? Could it be that the gas tax and the break from it is more important than Obama is letting on? *GASP* (Are people ever going to figure out that he is an elite snob who thinks people are bitter and should be pleased about paying taxes? Stupid is as stupid does I guess.)

So what prompted him to call a second afternoon session to talk specifically about Iraq? Mr. Obama was scrolling through news reports on his Blackberry – taking particular note of stories about his Iraq policy – when he told his advisers he wanted to better explain a statement he made earlier about continuing to “refine my policies” regarding a timeline for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

“We’re going to try this again,” Mr. Obama said, standing behind a lectern that was hastily set up on the lawn of a park here. “Apparently I wasn’t clear enough this morning on my position with respect to the war in Iraq.”

In doing so, Mr. Obama illustrated the complexities surrounding Iraq policy and the presidential campaign. After being a political beneficiary in the Democratic primary for being seen as the strongest anti-war candidate, many of the nuances that have long been tucked into Mr. Obama’s policy have begun to emerge.

So does Mr. Obama still stand behind his proposed timeline to withdraw the majority of American combat troops in 16 months, at a pace of one or two a month?

This morning, he answered the question like this:

“My 16-month timeline, if you examine everything that I’ve said, was always premised on making sure that our troops were safe. I said that based on the information that we had received from our commanders that one to two brigades a month could be pulled out safely, from a logistical perspective. My guiding approach continues to be that we’ve got to make sure that our troops are safe and that Iraq is stable. I’m going to continue to gather information to find out whether those conditions still hold.”

In the afternoon, this is how he addressed the same topic:

“I’ve also said that I would be deliberate and careful in how we got out, that I would bring our troops home at a pace of one to two brigades per month and that pace would have our combat troops out in 16 months. That position has not changed. I have not equivocated on that position, I am not searching for maneuvering room with respect to that position.”

Mr. Obama’s positions on Iraq have never tilted as far left as many Democrats would have preferred – remember a debate last year when he declined to say specifically when troops would be out of Iraq? – his statements here provided the latest indication of the way changing circumstances in Iraq have added fresh challenges to keep anti-war supporters on his side while pursuing what he calls a responsible end to the war.

Mr. Obama is heading to Iraq this month. He said he intended to collect new information from U.S. commanders on the ground and he would “refine” his policies accordingly. But does that include the 16-month timetable? Not specifically, he said, but it also could depend upon the number of troops needed to train Iraqi forces and fight terrorism.

“There’s been a major debate in terms of how we should structure training for Iraqi military and police. What kinds of troop presences will we need in order for that to occur?” Mr. Obama said. “What kinds of troop presences do we need to have a counter terrorism strike force in Iraq that ensures that Al Qaeda does not regain a foothold there. Those are all issues that obviously are going to be determined by the facts on the ground.”

In the end, one of the biggest differences between Mr. Obama’s first and second appearances in front of the cameras here on Thursday was his emphasis. The first time, he did not include a line saying that he specifically intended to end the war. By the time he returned for Take Two, that line was a prominent one.

Well they got this one right! It was a 5/4 decision, which means that four of the justices don't believe or affirm that the second amendment says what it means. How sad it that to contemplate!

The high court ruled that the right to own and keep guns is indeed embedded in the Constitution of the United States. What the ruling does not do is prevent the government from placing some regulations on ownership. Things like the Brady Back Ground Checks, and prevention of ownership for folks with felony records and mentally ill citizens.

I am reading that this is a fairly comprehensive affirmation of the individuals right to own a gun. The high court acted correctly in the reading of the Second Amendment, and in so doing they have struck down the Washington D.C. ban on guns.

The dissenting justices were the familiar leftist group we have come to count on to support the liberal point of view. Justices Ginsberg, Breyer, and Souter.

Of course the folks who wish to take away constitutional rights, (yes, the liberals) have begun to complain that there will be an increase of gun violence.

Washington's mayor, Adrian Fenty, said he is disappointed in the ruling. ``More handguns in the District will mean more gun violence,'' he said at a press conference.

The problem is however the gun ban is 32 years old. Gun violence has been very high since at least the mid eighties, when the pandemic of drugs took hold of Washington D.C. even reaching up to the Mayor, Marion Barry got caught smoking crack. Though he did try to claim he was set up. So it would seem to everyone but the leftist folks in our nation that gun violence is a CRIMINAL behavior and goes on whether or not the government bans guns. The effect is denying rights to law abiding citizens.

I am sure in the next few days we will hear plenty about this issue, and I am actually glad for that. It will throw into sharp relief the fact that liberals are not supportive of freedom, and it will force theobama to take a stand on the issue, showing him for what he is, a quasi-socialist liberal, in messianic clothes.

Pity the easily influenced of voting age.

GOP members in congress have a novel idea. Allow oil companies to drill for oil here in the United States! How shocking! The agenda behind opening up drilling in our nation, is to help drive down gas prices. Now this may seem extreme to any liberal minded reader who happens across my blog, not that I get many readers, but I digress. We have been told for decades that drilling would not bring down oil prices, or get us off dependency on foreign oil. It will take years they like to say. (Fox News)

"We are kidding ourselves if we think we can drill our way out of these problems," House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis., said during the bill mark-up session.

"The disappointing part about some of the energy policies being promoted (is) that it calls for more drilling when drilling really is the problem. And all we've got to show for pretty aggressive (domestic) drilling for the last 35 years is, again, $4 for a gallon of gas," Manuel said, adding "since the first Arab oil shock in the 1970s, the U.S. has produced almost 90 billion barrels of oil since then, so we've tried drilling our way out of the problem and it just hasn't worked."

This is a fallacy, We have so limited drilling that we are forced to import oil, and we have refused to drill in places like Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. In the years between 1973 and 2008 have seen dramatic increases in population and increases on demand for products that require oil for production, such as plastics. But the statement by Manuel doesn't reflect this does it. Not, it is simply out of context, and truth be told simply a liberal lie.

Liberals think the way to address the current artifically high gas prices, is to institute more taxes on the companies which do business getting gas to the pumps and running those pumps. "Americans are furious about what's going on," declared Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D. He said they want Congress to do something about oil company profits and the "orgy of speculation" on oil markets. (Hebert) The House bill number 2977 introduced by a Seattle liberal democrat, Bob Hasegawa. Fortunately it was defeated, in the Senate as well, by getting a vote of 51 falling short of a required 60.(HEBERT) Seven so-called Republicans voted with the liberals to support the bill.

Here is a problem with taking more money from Oil companies. Taxes do not fill barrels with oil. Perhaps Harry Reid and Byron Dorgan do not realize this. Further taking money from oil companies will not lower the pump price we are paying. It will not be returned to the tax payers, nor will it likely go to support anything worth while but will instead go to pay for the pork barrel spending by congress.(Riedl, Acosta-Fraser) (Note the Farm Bill and Byron Dorgan's handy work there in)

WASHINGTON - Saved by Senate Republicans, big oil companies dodged an attempt Tuesday to slap them with a windfall profits tax and take away billions of dollars in tax breaks in response to the record gasoline prices that have the nation fuming.

GOP senators shoved aside the Democratic proposal, arguing that punishing Big Oil won't do a thing to lower the $4-a-gallon-price of gasoline that is sending economic waves across the country. High prices at the pump are threatening everything from summer vacations to Meals on Wheels deliveries to the elderly.

The Democratic energy package would have imposed a 25 percent tax on any "unreasonable" profits of the five largest U.S. oil companies, which together made $36 billion during the first three months of the year. It also would have given the government more power to address oil market speculation, opened the way for antitrust actions against countries belonging to the OPEC oil cartel, and made energy price gouging a federal crime.

Uber-Liberal Moon-bat behavior from Kucinich.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."

Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.

Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution was killed, but only after Republicans initially voted in favor of taking up the measure to force a debate.

Kucinich won 50 percent of the vote in a five-way House Democratic primary in March, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

It is difficult to believe that people vote, and vote enough to elect this nut job. What does this offer anyone? Well out side the drooling liberal vitriol filled anti- Bush types that is!

A very telling part of this very short story from the AP is that the slow witted Kucinich tried this before with Dr. Evil himself Vice President Cheney. They, the liberals in congress wanted to get this on the floor in an effort to appease those in their constituents who want the heads of the Bush administration on platters. There are a lot of these 'impeach Bush' loons out there.

This drivel offered on the floor of the House of Representatives will simply lead to nothing, and end up worth less than the paper it was written on, and far less than the salary wasted by Kucinich by grand standing on the House floor.

What a waste of time.

Pakistan: Taliban Kill Five Teenage Boys Playing Cricket....

GUNMEN have shot dead five teenage boys who were returning home after playing a cricket match in the troubled south-western Pakistani province of Baluchistan.

The teenagers, aged between 15 and 19, were killed today in the provincial capital Quetta, said city police chief Rehmatullah Niazi.

He said three died at the scene and while the other two died in the hospital. Residents said the boys were members of a school cricket team.

In my nearly 36 years of public service I’ve known of a few like you. No doubt you will “clean up” as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, “Biting The Hand That Fed Me.” Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years.

I have no intention of reading your “exposé” because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man, or quit your cushy, high profile job. That would have taken integrity and courage but then you would have had credibility and your complaints could have been aired objectively. You’re a hot ticket now but don’t you, deep down, feel like a total ingrate?

At The Evergreen State College the wanna be communists and socialists are having a 'sit in' to protest the exclusion of Olympia SDS.

Here is a internet article on the matter...

On Wednesday, May 21st the Olympia chapter of Students for a Democratic Society will hold a rally for free speech leading up to our last and final appeal with The Evergreen State College administration regarding our student group’s suspension. The rally will start at 3pm in Red Square at Evergreen. All community members are welcome to attend this. Now is the perfect time that our comrades, allies and supporters from Olympia, Cascadia, the US of A and beyond put pressure on the Evergreen administration to reinstate SDS as a student group, with full funding, complete rights and no strings attached.

Here’s who you can put pressure on. You can make the demands listed above, and feel free to add in any more information (see below) you want. Wendy Freeman will be presiding over our appeal on May 21st, but Art Costantino and Les Purce both have been putting a lot of pressure on SDS.

Here is a little background on why they were suspended. It seems to have to do with the concert riot following the concert of the rap group "Dead Prez"...

The suspension of SDS was politically motivated and part of a recent trend of silencing political dissent on campus. Foremost responsible for this suppression are the upper-level administrators Phyllis Lane, the Dean of Student and Academic Support Services who initially file the complaint against SDS, and Costantino. The so-called “concert moratorium” that was imposed after the Dead Prez concert on campus, which was used as justification for the suspension, granted Lane and Costantino the ability to decide which events took place on campus, and thus which members of the student community had a voice, at their discretion.

It would seem that after the students have behaved as they have with the riots during the port protest in November, the May Day riots, and the concert riots, and perhaps given the history of the SDS and their ties to domestic terror, why should they be reinstated as a club?

They are choosing to disrupt the rest of the school to get attention for themselves, offering near as I can tell no good reason what so ever why they should be restored. Judging this behavior, of interferring with the staff and students at the rest of this school they ought to be expelled. But that is just my opinion.

I think this is going to be a title of my posts that are essentially "Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene" as Thomas Sowell would say.

The title comes from the the book by Stephen Hawking called a "Brief History of Time"

In it there is a discussion about Sir Issac Newton and how he was "Occasioned by the fall of an apple" while contemplating things on his mind.

People are sporting loads of Obama08 stickers, and yard signs and what not. He is the candidate of change and has the "Audacity of Hope." What seems to be getting lost in the gushing of the mainstream media is that there is not a single new idea or any hope that things tried in the past are going to work this time. In April 1979 then President Jimmy Carter said,

"Unless we tax the oil companies, they will reap huge and undeserved windfall profits," Carter declared in a nationwide address. Americans had a right to recapture some of that windfall and put it to good use. What this video shows is the intolerance of the left in our nation. It is especially prevalent on college campuses. I do not know what college this was filmed. The people who organized the pro life demonstration, seem at least on the film to have gotten permission, from the school allowing them to stage the scene in the video.

Along comes some intolerant fascist liberal, who says they don't have the right to disagree with abortion. Not only that he feels his freedom is being diminished because someone else exercises theirs. So what we have is a sophomore college student that has literally no grasp of what constitutional rights we are afforded, who and how they can be exercised and no understanding of the point the demonstration is trying to make. He is up set that someone who had or may be considering an abortion might be tremendously affected by the demonstration. Isn't that the point? To get them to re think their decision, and thus not kill a baby?

In the Blow back section of the column on HotAir many people were saying, 'what does it prove' why don't they do something else, and on and on. That is the point, it very clearly is effective and useful to point out that abortion actually kills a person, no matter how much the leftist moon bats try to claim otherwise.

Gregoire speaks out on riot in Olympia

Gov. Chris Gregoire spoke out today about the vandalism at the state Capitol and the downtown Olympia rioting that took place Thursday, leading to six arrests."...I am the proponent of free speech. I absolutely object to the destruction of property and putting people in fear. That is what I understand happened yesterday, including in my very own office.

"So let your voices be heard, be as persuasive as you can be, I support that -- but not destroying personal property or public property…”

Really? That is it? "Let your voices be heard..." How about I am tasking the state attorney general to find those who were responsible, those who support those responsible and hold them to account for the actions of May 1st. How about that instead of, this wishy washy, half statement of say what you want, but be nice, especially in my office! What a coward.

There is a culture here of people who like to pretend they can have it both ways so to speak. At Olyblog.net, you can find an echo chamber of ultra left wing moon bats. With community leaders like Mr. Whitlock, Rick, and Rob Richards the supposed "docents" setting the example, they enable these people. These guys like to entertain the idea that they are fair and support all points of view. Well that may or may not be true, and you should spend time there to figure that out for yourself. What they are certainly guilty of is creating an arena of communication where you can support things like what happened in Olympia, so long as you meet one caveat. You must state that you disagree or oppose the vandalism which took place. It is just window dressing to cover and have an out when or if you ever get called on what was going on.

Mr. Whitlock was there, taking pictures down town, was not directly involved in the destruction, but by his own comments failed to take any affirmative action to help stop or assist in identifying those involved.

He was uncomfortable, but stuck with it because he wanted to put a smile on and support the protest. It is this passive accepting, amoral, there is no right and wrong behavior that allows this kind of stuff to go on. We have a culture of accepting this kind of stuff, as we saw in November when the port protests took place, and it will continue.

We need as citizens to stand up and say that this behavior is unacceptable to us. We need to call those who participate and those who fail to stand up for right and wrong on it. Accountability will go a long way towards ending this behavior.

So May Day or International Workers Day, or Celebrate Socialism Day, whatever, but of course here in Olympia we had riots. What fun!

Not only was their a 'march' to support workers rights or something, it was an opportunity for the communists/socialists/liberals to demand that Olympia become a sanctuary city. Going one better than other cities in the county they also want to be a safe place where war protesters can hide from the law, and military personel can desert from the military branch they chose to enlist with. (We have all branches very close here, USAF,USN,USMC,USArmy) These people who took to the streets to march and give speaches and generally disrupt people trying to actually work and go about thier lives, they want to remake this city in a fashion they feel is 'safe' and 'fair' and equal. But that is not what the result would be of course. Usually people are smart enough to understand that we have the rule of law for a reason. What no city needs is foolish policies which directly contradict federal law. One can make the argument that an unjust law is no law at all. If you believe that, fine, but having laws which make it a crime to desert the military to break a contract you have made voluntarily, is a just law. Laws which establish a rule of law for those outside our nation, establish a border and a regulated means by which you can enter our country legally is also just.

No what these fools want is to alter society into an a moral circus of chaos. Olympia has a culture which is ultra progressive, and is continually in direct conflict with the police, sheriffs, and elected government. We saw this in November when the military tried to move equipment to Fort Lewis through the port and resulted in riots. We saw it when a person assulted another at a "Dead Prez" concert and they attacked law enforcement and did $50,000.00 worth of damage to a patrol car.

The protesters activly supported those who dressed in black, hiding thier faces attacked banks, and the state capitol. They went to city hall to demand release of those who were arrested. We even have reporters in our local fish wrap... er... newspaper who report that some poor pedestrian just trying to pick up their bicycle was hit with a baton by an officer and hit with three 'pepper bullets'. We here in Olympia have people who have posted comments on this blog like Robert Whitlock, who believe that these criminals are just 'expressing themselves' but they supposedly abhor violence. We have people, and a lot of them who will pretend the problem was just a minor subset of people in a larger group. What they deliberatly try to obfuscate is the fact that the larger group give explicit and implicit permission for this behavior. Did any of the people try to perform a citizens arrest, when the windows at Bank of America were smashed? How about when the capitol was vandalized? Not a single instance or report have I been able to find on line. I have seen the Moon Bat Left try to perform a citizens arrest on a truck driver leaving the port with a load of military equipment. They will do it if they disagree with whom they are arresting. But if they agree with the action, the issue, the motivation, or the 'feeling' they don't intercede.

Israel resumes Gaza fuel supplies

One would think that this would encourage Hamas militants to stop shooting at the Israelis delivering fuel. But of course not. They both complain that Israel is treating them inhumanly as they shoot at them when the deliver the fuel they want so badly. Let's not forget the UN who stands by like a group of idiots with no authority as all this goes on and then publicly says Israel is being a bully.

Palestinian officials had warned it would run out of fuel on Wednesday, plunging large areas into darkness. The temporary resumption of deliveries followed mediation by the European Union, which pays for the fuel. ...

Da da, it goes on. Why is the EU (which means the taxpayers of Europe) paying for a terrorist's organizations fuel supplies?

Here is the important bit though...

An Israeli military statement issued on Wednesday morning said that it was allowing 1 million litres of fuel into Gaza for its power station. This was confirmed by Palestinian officials in the West Bank, who estimated that this amount would allow the plant to generate electricity for three days. ... Israel's policy of limiting fuel supplies is part of an attempt to force the Islamist movement, Hamas, which controls Gaza, to stop rocket fire into Israel. Rocket fire has dropped off recently but not ceased.

Fuel supplies have been more sporadic than usual recently due to attacks by militants on the Nahal Oz depot through which they pass.

Next time some pro Palestinian liberal moon bat tries to tell you or anyone else that Israel is abusing the poor defensless terrorists, explain this to them and leave a smoking hole where their logic use to be.

Nancy Pants Speaker of the House of Representatives decided that she was allowed to redefine the meaning of communion in Church.

Saying,

“Communion is the body of the people of the church coming together,”

and going on with,

“I feel very much a part of that.”

Communion is a holy sacrament and is to worship and remember Christ and his sacrifice for our salvation. Nancy pants thinks it is some kind of Unitarian coming together of people in the church. I don't think too many things could be more selfish or insulting.

On the eve of a planned meeting of its leader Khaled Meshaal with former President Jimmy Carter, the Hamas terrorist organization has expressed the "hope" that Senator Barack Hussein Obama will win the presidential elections and change America's foreign policy.

Carter is a dhimmi of the greatest magnatude. He should be held in protective custody.

Even though Obama has said that he would not meet with Hamas unless it renounces violence and recognizes Israel, or becomes the recognized leadership of the Palestinians -- he has no qualms about holding talks with the leadership of Iran, Syria, and North Korea -- that doesn't seem to bother the Hamas leadership.

Perhaps they can see how utterly stupid a position that is to hold. They know that North Korea is just as bad or worse than they, Hamas, are. Why do you suppose Carter is not able to see them for what they are?

What do I need to watch a bunch of liberals in a Compassion Forum on CNN for? "Well, you gotta watch, you gotta see what Obama is saying." I said, "I don't need to see it. I know these people." Nevertheless, I turned it on, and I'm watching Marxist Christians in the audience. I'm watching these Marxist evangelicals. And, by the way, you know what's interesting, an evangelical can be a Marxist liberal or socialist and the Drive-Bys never once care about crossing the line that separates church and state. So Obama and Hillary can go to a religious college and have all kinds of politics mixed in here, and it's just wonderful. Because, of course, half the people that stood up and asked these questions last night are just pure socialist evangelicals. And there's one guy that stood up, right as I happened to turn it on, and said, "Would you, Barack, commit to cutting poverty in half in ten years?" Well, now, what is a socialist going to say in answer to that question? You think Obama is going to say, "Hell, no, I'm not going to commit to that. We can't do it." No, he said, "I am going to tackle that with humility." He makes the commitment with humility.

Now, I'll tell you why that question frustrated me. For how many years have we had a war on poverty in this country? At least 50. And what are the results of the war on poverty in this country? We haven't wiped it out. The percentage of people in poverty today, expressed as a percentage of our population, is pretty much the same as it was when the war on poverty began. And who's run the war on poverty? Who created the whole program? LBJ, liberal Democrats. It was their entitlement, and they've been adding and adding money to it each and every year. Now they advertise for food stamp recipients. Have we gotten rid of poverty? We have not. So these idiots in the audience stand up and say, "When are you going to do something about poverty?" We have been trying, and we've been trying it the wrong way. The way for people out of poverty is economic growth. The way for people out of poverty is education. High expectations, inspiration and motivation, you're never going to get people who are stuck in poverty -- most people are not, by the way. People move in and out of various income quintiles. But the people who are stuck there are not going to get out of it sitting around waiting for government handouts. It just isn't going to happen. People have to do this themselves. They have to be trained, educated, inspired, and motivated to do it. We'll never be able to count on Democrats to do that because they don't want those people out of poverty.

An article from the Minneapolis Star Tribune. My first thought is "why isn't the ACLU all over this like they would be if a Boy Scout has a prayer or meeting in a public park?

Recently, I wrote about Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a K-8 charter school in Inver Grove Heights. Charter schools are public schools and by law must not endorse or promote religion.

Evidence suggests, however, that TIZA is an Islamic school, funded by Minnesota taxpayers.

TIZA has many characteristics that suggest a religious school. It shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, whose mission is "establishing Islam in Minnesota." The building also houses a mosque. TIZA's executive director, Asad Zaman, is a Muslim imam, or religious leader, and its sponsor is an organization called Islamic Relief.

Students pray daily, the cafeteria serves halal food - permissible under Islamic law -- and "Islamic Studies" is offered at the end of the school day.

Prayer before a meal? I wonder just how many Christian or Jewish children attend this madrassa, er... school?

Zaman maintains that TIZA is not a religious school. He declined, however, to allow me to visit the school to see for myself, "due to the hectic schedule for statewide testing." But after I e-mailed him that the Minnesota Department of Education had told me that testing would not begin for several weeks, Zaman did not respond -- even to urgent calls and e-mails seeking comment before my first column on TIZA.

Now, however, an eyewitness has stepped forward. Amanda Getz of Bloomington is a substitute teacher. She worked as a substitute in two fifth-grade classrooms at TIZA on Friday, March 14. Her experience suggests that school-sponsored religious activity plays an integral role at TIZA.

Arriving on a Friday, the Muslim holy day, she says she was told that the day's schedule included a "school assembly" in the gym after lunch.

Before the assembly, she says she was told, her duties would include taking her fifth-grade students to the bathroom, four at a time, to perform "their ritual washing."

Afterward, Getz said, "teachers led the kids into the gym, where a man dressed in white with a white cap, who had been at the school all day," was preparing to lead prayer. Beside him, another man "was prostrating himself in prayer on a carpet as the students entered."

"The prayer I saw was not voluntary," Getz said. "The kids were corralled by adults and required to go to the assembly where prayer occurred."

Required and corralled? Can you imagine the outrage that would take place if a Christian pastor or minister were doing this in a public school? The anti-religious zealots would be drooling over each other at the prospect of dragging the offending parties into court not to mention excoriating them in the MSM and on the internet.

Islamic Studies was also incorporated into the school day. "When I arrived, I was told 'after school we have Islamic Studies,' and I might have to stay for hall duty," Getz said. "The teachers had written assignments on the blackboard for classes like math and social studies. Islamic Studies was the last one -- the board said the kids were studying the Qu'ran. The students were told to copy it into their planner, along with everything else. That gave me the impression that Islamic Studies was a subject like any other."

After school, Getz's fifth-graders stayed in their classroom and the man in white who had led prayer in the gym came in to teach Islamic Studies. TIZA has in effect extended the school day -- buses leave only after Islamic Studies is over. Getz did not see evidence of other extra-curricular activity, except for a group of small children playing outside. Significantly, 77 percent of TIZA parents say that their "main reason for choosing TIZA ... was because of after-school programs conducted by various non-profit organizations at the end of the school period in the school building," according to a TIZA report. TIZA may be the only school in Minnesota with this distinction.

In addition, schools cannot favor one religion by offering services for only its adherents, or promote after-school religious instruction for only one group. The ACLU of Minnesota has launched an investigation of TIZA, and the Minnesota Department of Education has also begun a review.

TIZA's operation as a public, taxpayer-funded school is troubling on several fronts. TIZA is skirting the law by operating what is essentially an Islamic school at taxpayer expense. The Department of Education has failed to provide the oversight necessary to catch these illegalities, and appears to lack the tools to do so. In addition, there's a double standard at work here -- if TIZA were a Christian school, it would likely be gone in a heartbeat.

The ACLU is 'investigating' the school has been operating since at least 2003. I don't think when they are defending NAMBLA or attacking the Boy Scouts that they are so slow to act. Maybe there is some truth to the Anti-Christian-Lawyers-Union moniker after all!

New Zealand: Christian Convert Goes Into Hiding to Avoid Deportation to Iran.....

An Iranian woman, who fears she will be killed when deported to her homeland, has gone missing amid desperate attempts by her family to keep her in New Zealand.

Immigration Minister Clayton Cosgrove told Parliament today Bahareh Moradi had absconded and was "currently being located" so a removal order could be served.

She failed to attend a meeting with immigration officials and had not reported to police as part of her bail conditions on Sunday night. A warrant has been issued for her arrest, a spokesman for Associate Immigration Minister Shane Jones said tonight.

She has been through several appeal channels in her attempt to stay in New Zealand. Her three brothers live in New Zealand and have refugee status. They have been trying to negotiate for her to stay and are understood to be applying to the Court of Appeal as a final bid.

The family's fear is that she will be killed because of her conversion to Christianity in 2004, as conversion from Islam to Christianity is a sin under Sharia law, punishable by death. They have claimed they have been persecuted in Iran.

Which made very little sense, given that the type of people who show up for legislative district caucuses on a Saturday don’t really need a celebrity (or semi-celebrity) to motivate them to take political action.

Astin’s speech was most memorable for this line: “Should Obama get the nomination I will become a massive Barack Hussein Obama supporter.”

Hussein? Eyebrows shot up. Brows furrowed. Heads turned. A friend in the audience texted me: “Hussein!?” I’m not sure what Astin was up to with that line, but someone probably should have told him that Seattle’s 43rd District is the last place in the U.S. where subliminal messaging around Obama’s middle name is likely to move Democrats toward Clinton.

Further proof of this: There was some time to kill as multiple tallies of the delegates and alternates were done, and when the time-killer of taking audience questions had run its course and the idea of teling jokes had been nixed, someone suggested doing the Pledge of Allegiance to pass the time. (Are you listening, right-wing bloggers? This is going to get good.)

At the mere mention of doing the pledge there were groans and boos. Then, when the district chair put the idea of doing the Pledge of Allegiance up to a vote, it was overwhelmingly voted down. One might more accurately say the idea of pledging allegiance to the flag (of which there was only one in the room, by the way, on some delegate’s hat) was shouted down.

What bothers me about this stuff from the MSM is that they try so hard to pretend that it doesn't matter. It does matter and I will tell you why. When a person runs for President of the United States, they are going to be vetted and face just about the most intense scrutiny that comes with any job I can think of. Here we have The Obama running for office and it comes out that his pastor of Twenty years is an America hating race baiting retard.

If you run for President and you do not have any substantial examples of past performance, like "The Obama" you have to run on your outstanding sense of judgement, as he has done. So when the MSM tries to pretend that the America hating so-called Reverend Wright is some kind of diversion, and non issue so to speak, it is simply an attempt by the very biased MSM to skew the issue in their favor, or in the favor of their chosen candidate. These two quotes from Anderson Cooper and Norah O'Donnell make clear that they are defending The Obama against questions about him and his association with a guy that is so clearly polarizing, not to mention dishonest and hateful.

An association with a guy who so clearly feels that white people are out to get black people, who so clearly hates this nation, who so clearly benefits from these dishonest polemics, and who has been a 'spiritual' advisor or teacher in some capacity for TWENTY years, is a clear and obvious demonstration of bad judgement in the extreme. As the Obmam scrambles to distance himself from the so-called revenrend, his donations to that particular church, his long association with Wright and his trying to do every thing but condemn the guy, makes it clear that the Obama does not demonstrate good judgement. The Obama's wife and her remarks about being proud of her country for the first time as an adult only goes to show who he surrounds himslef with, and it give the nation a candid snap shot in time of the disposistion of the people around the Obama.

This nation deserves better. This nation should demand better, and it appears to be the best that the democrats can do to put Pants suit and the Obama forward as the best two candidates that the left has to offer.

The lawmakers are not named in the indictment but the dates correspond to a trip by Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott, David Bonior and Mike Thompson. There was no indication the three lawmakers knew the trip was underwritten by Saddam.

"Obviously we didn't know it at the time," McDermott spokesman Michael DeCesare said Wednesday. "The trip was to see the plight of the Iraqi children. That's the only reason we went."...

Three Democratic members of Congress? I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!!

During the trip, the lawmakers expressed skepticism about the Bush administration's claims that Saddam was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. Though such weapons ultimately were never found, the lawmakers drew criticism for their trip at the time.

Sen. Don Nickles, the second-ranking Senate Republican at the time, said the Democrats "sound somewhat like spokespersons for the Iraqi government."

In exchange for coordinating the trip, Al-Hanooti allegedly received 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil.
DeCesare said McDermott was invited to go to Iraq by a Seattle church group and was unaware of any other funding for the trip.

Now I am quite certain that Baghdad Jim McDermott made sure his staff did 'due dilligence' to see that the trip was above board in any respect. Right? I am shocked that upon his visit that Saddam Hussien did not take 'Baghdad Jim' and the other terrorist sympathizers on a tour of the weapons of mass destruction. I guess they were already being FedEx'd to Syria and perhaps Iran.

But it seems Saddam and his buddies considered McDermott a hero in those days before the war. Baath Party documents discovered after the fall of Baghdad revealed that McDermott accepted a $5,000 check for legal reserves from Shakir al-Khafaji, an Iraqi businessman with close ties to Saddam Hussein. After Weekly Standard exposed the shady deal, McDermott returned the money.

And when Saddam was captured in his secret lair last year, McDermott alleged the entire capture had been staged, coordinated and timed by the Bush administration. "There's too much by happenstance for it to be just a coincidental thing," McDermott told a Seattle radio station.

McDermott has good standing with other wicked tyrants. In 1999, prior to Seattle's notorious World Trade Organization Convention riots, McDermott extended a zealous invitation to Cuban dictator Fidel Castro to visit the WTO meetings. Castro turned down the invitation, citing security concerns, but commending McDermott as his "highly respected friend," a man of "honor and integrity," and a defender of "the courageous and sincere exchange of opinions, above and beyond the fanaticism, dogmatism and prejudices of the ignorant, who have no serious ideas to defend, nor arguments to defend them."

As pro-war, flag-waving counter-protesters set up camp in Berkeley, Calif., on Monday, an anti-war activist told Cybercast News Service that her organization intended to demonstrate against the city's Marine recruitment center until it was abandoned.

"We're staying here until the Marines decide to respect the people of Berkeley and what we want in our city," Zanne Joi, a spokesperson for the anti-war group Code Pink, said in an interview. "We're a city of peace. We've always voted against this war, as a council and as a people."

Code Pink has been holding regular demonstrations in front of the recruitment center since October, with activities as diverse as dancing, yoga, juggling lessons, and public kissing meant to show opposition to the Marines, according to Joi.

The organization has dubbed its protests "How Berkeley Can You Be?" to show a contrast between the military's traditions and their city's counterculture.

Joi said protesters camped in front of the recruitment center number, on average, between 15 and 30 each day, and as high as 200.

Now how utterly stupid do you have to be to demonstrate against the military, the very people who volunteer to protect the rights of Americans such as these Code Pink Anti-American lunatics? Do you suppose that every single person in Berkley is on the side of the Code Pink moon-bats? I doubt it. But they will not give up until the military is gone. Nice, eh? But don't you dare question their patriotism!
